The good part is that, if Obama wants to survive politically, he now has to open a case of whup-ass |
|
on the oil companies.
The media are already out in full force trying to paint the oil spill as "Obama's Katrina" and as all his fault for not responding quickly.
He essentially has two choices now: Tear the oil companies a new asshole and portrait himself as the person who did such, or sink. Obama is a brilliant strategic thinker, I am sure he is aware of this. So the following months should be interesting to watch.

2. The only thing that might stop some of the backlash |

and get another type, is to nationalize them. Short of that, no regulation will work

You know, I agree he has got to learn he can't trust a fucking word these corporations say and I hope that he has learned that to the bone between the banks and mines and oil.
But to pretend he is in some trouble of not surviving politically, and jump on the media bashwagon,
you know,
just fuck off.

5. Obama will meet with the oil companies for ideas to incorporate in any solution.. |
|
He will never open a can of whoopass on 'em. The only group he ever opens his can of whoopass on are the progressives who worked their asses off to get him elected.

His actions are confined to backing up the status quo. He'll tinker with the machine, he'll shine it, he may even change a gear or two. But he will not build a new one.

8. That's what I have been saying. He seems to be more up to |
|
appeasing republicans than going after the obstructionist republicans...President Clinton didn't let the constant barrage of manufactured "investigations by republicans" stop him. He went after them and he got things done. Obama seems to have a big old cojoin problem. Or should I say a fractured problem.
