Stay safe fellow Tennesseans.... |
|
...and don't travel unless you have to.
For those who don't know, there are major floods happening here, and tornadoes.

2. Thanks babylonsister. All I can think about are my kids... |
|
...which are my cats. I've worked up a million contingency plans on how I can evacuate them.

5. Are you that low/close to water? I hope not, and hope it's a 'high tide' |
|
that will recede soon. I used to live in Houston, and it flooded there a lot, but dissipated pretty quickly once it stopped raining.

6. It's supposed to rain until Monday. The ground is saturated.... |

...I live about one mile from the Cumberland River, which is a major river.
This could turn into a natural/national disaster. I-24, the main artery from Nashville to Atlanta, to the rest of the Southeast, is cut off and under water. Trucks are at a standstill.

|
I know a few people traveling across the country who wound up stuck in Tennessee last night because all the roads were closed.
Stay safe, Tennessee!

11. Indeed. There are temporary shelters being set up everywhere.... |
|
...I hope those passing through can find them.

There are 5 dead due to the flooding. My bro's apartment flooded in Nashville. He salvaged some of his belongings & evacuated to a hotel.
