What is this Hollywood crap ?? |
|
Movie stars coming in to red carpets, mixing with reporters and politicians, Democrats and Republicans? Something is wrong with this picture.
Is it any wonder the media is spineless and unable to report the truth about what is going on in Washington with our government and the politicians that we send to Washington to do our business?
Just like church and state, there should be a separation between news reporters and politicians. Coming to events such as this White House Correspondents Dinner is very much like a bribe, in my opinion.
Perhaps some folks do not have a problem with this?

I agree with the OP. It isn't bribery, but it shows the incestuous relationship. They're all millionaires and safely ensconced in "the bubble." You'll never get any real reporting from these people. "On bended knee."
Just more Potemkin reportage from our Potemkin soviet-style "press" about our Potemkin democracy.

As the child of a newspaperman who relished many Gridiron dinners, these kinds of things are fun as hell.

6. It's gross, especially given the recent mine and oil rig tragedies of us "little people." |
|
It's like Nero fiddling while Rome burns.
The wealthy elites within Politics, Hollywood and The Press schmooze and booze while the livelihood of multitudes of workers and small business people is destroyed by the Oil Cartels' negligence.
IMO, the RULING ELITES of all stripes truly don't give a sh*t about us "unwashed masses."
Oh but I missed the point, we must give Mika, et. al., a chance to show off THOSE awesome shoes? :puke:

13. I agree with you. It is too clubby of an atmosphere with the politicians and the press. |
|
Also I wonder who the hell thought Kim Kardashian should be involved in this? Why are d-list celebrities invited to these events? Kind of cheapens the whole thing, imo.
