Obama, don't give up your day job |

Watching the repeat on CSPAN. The President's monologue is just going on and on. Very few laughs. Colbert 2012!

The consensus seems to be that he was pretty good.

And now I'm being trashed for an opinion. And smeared. I have said great things about Obama.

Obama was funny and at times hilarious...much laughter in the room. Cable pundits unanimously judged that he was way funnier than Leno.

multi-million dollar professional comedian. Obama dominates Leno. Ergo, your post is stupid.
P.S.: If you really want to hear some comedy, check out Greg Gutfield. That dude's a laugh riot.

7. He got raves from all the cable networks. EVERYBODY said he was funny. |
|
And everyone agreed he overshadowed Leno -- who was very corny with jokes you could see coming. The President got some belly laughs from me. Leno fell flat on his chin.

If he tells one joke, someone, somewhere, in this nation of 300 million thin skinned Americans, which is chock full of sacred cows, pet issues and special interests, will be "offended" and whine very loudly. Then Robert Gibbs will have to make a lame apology on Monday.

edit to add - Everyone, including you ;), gets their own opinion, of course, but I'd definitely say you are in the minority on this based on Twitter and the discussions of it on CNN and MSNBC - and in my own personal opinion too. That's ok though. :)

They're usually the same people who never get the joke, and then blame the joke-teller for them not getting it. Get it?

17. I like dry wit and deadpan humor. He's got'em and I laughed quite a bit at his monologue. |
|
Jay Leno, otoh, was not deadpan -- just dead, and the critics will (or should) pan him.

18. Media don't have a sense of humor unless they are telling the jokes..... |
|
that's why there weren't as many laughs in that room... that and the fact that most aren't intelligent enough to get his jokes.
