3. They didn't come in and "conquer" or "civilize" anyone already here, which i believe makes an
important difference compared to many later immigrants.

4. They just fought amongst themselves. . .
and later helped their eventual oppressors to battle their enemies in unwitting preparation for their own subjugation.

Funny thing about the world -- there are very few innocent bystanders. . .

11. Exactly, but everyone seems to be missing the point. The anti-immigrant AZians & supporters of the
"Let's see your papers" law seem to think that they are "more native" because they were here before these newer immigrants they seem to despise. I think that's the point the sloganeer was trying to make, and did make to me.

2. The way I think of it is 500 years ago my ancestors lived in Europe. 500 years ago people of Mexican

descent's ancestors were crossing back and forth what is now the US/Mexican boarder. Why should I have more rights to this land?

9. My dad came here from Austria in 1920...mom's European family came here around 1630, to meet
some of my real American relatives who were already here. They were all immigrants from somewhere.
