How long would a response take
if the damage to our homeland caused by the BP Gulf oil spill were caused instead by an attack from a foreign country?

1. The Coast Guard was immedietly on the scene.
Napolitano was aware of the situation from the begginning. Interior Salazar was involved from the beginning also.

BP stalled the notification of how serious the "gush" was.

One more time, the government cannot official deploy manpower and Resources UNTIL the governer of said state declares " State Declaration of Emergency"!!!!!

Jindell issued this declaration April 29th the intial explosion occurred April 20th!!! WHY did he wait 9 days? Perhaps because BP was lying?

Declaration

Initial Explosion

THIS IS ALL ON BP!!! This is on Jindell for waiting 9 days to declare an Emergency.

2. I guess its how you identify response
Collecting data and making observations is one thing - identifying those accountable and reconsidering policies is another.

Just imagine if a foreign power had down this much damage to our homeland vis a vis destroyng our coastline with a bomb. The damage that will be done to the wildlife is the equivalent of biological warfare. Furthermore, the oilworkers working on the rig have died....

4. Well you are right there
But its share holders like those of Haliburton are multi-national; my point is if this amount of damage were done by a foreign power or terrorists (even they are essentially non-state actors even though we hold states who harbor them accountable) - an enemy as defined by DoD there would likely be an entirely different response...not that the response would be any more effective because this is a dilemma in that we have these weapons and this technology...but this type of a problem has not really been adequately anticipated much less adressed.

And saddly we have been here before with the Exxon Valdez.
