let's just grant, for the moment, the ridiculously absurd absolute truth of the prevailing stereotypes that:
100% of all illegal immigrants are hispanic
100% of all criminal are black and
100% of all terrorists are islamic.

does even that absolute justify, on a purely statistcal basis, profiling?

NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

why?

because the real relevant statistic for profiling is the reverse -- what percentage of hispanic people are here illegally, what percentage of black people are criminals, and what percentage of islamic people are terrorists. even if 100% of all terrorists are islamic, who can you justify profiling all muslim people if fewer than 1% of all muslims are terrorists??

all arguments about justice and freedom and the american way aside, on a purely statistical level, profiling is complete horseshit.
