I was in Times Square during the bomb evacuation |

And I want to say that the NYPD and whomever else (FBI? Homeland Security?) was ordering us to leave did a PHENOMENAL job of keeping us calm and orderly. They were professional to the highest degree and pretty damn brave not to be running ahead of the crowd. I took particular pride in my city during 9/11 and once again I am in awe of what I witnessed. Although I have had plenty of negative thoughts and words for the police, today they deserve kudos for a job well done.

4. By and large, the NYPD is a pretty |

fine outfit. The thuggery of the bully personality is evident in a very very small percentage.

5. I've noticed it varies by borough |

Manhattan and (perhaps surprisingly) the Bronx have really good cops in my experience. Queens and Staten Island not so much. I hear there's another borough in the city but I never bother to go there and can't rate their police officers...
