All the candidates should have Secret Service protection, now. |

It's not a matter of their politics or their personalities. Famous politicians bring odd people out of the woodwork. In my lifetime, people have taken shots at:John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy, George Wallace, Gerald Ford (twice) and Ronald Reagen. At least two of the assassins, Arthur Bremer and John Hinckley, did it because they wanted to be noticed.
We can't or won't keep potential assassins from getting hold of rifles and hand guns; at least we should start to try to protect their targets.

With the millions they've been raising for their campaigns, I can't imagine them not spending some of that on security.
