Lynn Redgrave has died (MSNBC)
No details, yet. It seems that we're losing many who were part of the scene during boomers' coming-of-age.

Goodbye, Georgie Girl.

Classy lady. And I think she was kind of hot, too.

I was a big fan from a young age. I'll miss her...

I loved her! RIP

Hey there Georgie girl,
there's another Georgie deep inside,
bring out all the love you hide,
you can't always run away,

inside now,

Hey there Georgie girl,
why do all the boys just pass you by,
could it be you just don?t try,
or is it the clothes you wear?

Your always window-shopping,
but never stopping to buy,
come shake those downy feathers and try,

a little bit,

Hey there Georgie girl,
there's another Georgie deep inside,
bring out all th e love you hide,
you can't always run away,

Don't be so scared of changing,
and rearranging yourself,
it's time for jumping down from the shelf,

and you'll be
a new Georgie girl,
wake up Georgie girl

She was such a beautiful person. I loved her in that movie. Just a regular person who most of us could identify with... so sad...

5. She's battled breast cancer in the past ---
IIRC, I wonder if she had a reoccurance. :( She was a wonderful actor -- she stole "Gods and Monsters" out from under Ian McKlellen's nose. :)

8. Looks like it was the breast cancer that took her...
As a 12+ year survivor, I am grateful for every new day.

"Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer," they said in a statement Monday. "She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time."

14. She'd asked her daughter, a professional photographer,
to document her journey with breast cancer. That story, with pictures, was in a magazine in my oncologist's waiting room. It was a loving and courageous thing, and it was beautifully done.

13. That is terrible news. I'm so sorry to hear that.
I didn't know that she suffered from breast cancer. My heart especially goes out to Vanessa Redgrave and the rest of her extended family. Within the last year, they have had multiple tragedies. :(

Lynn Redgrave, Famed British Actress, Dies of Breast Cancer
Sister of Vanessa Redgrave Dies at 67, a Year after Niece Natasha Richardson

British actress Lynn Redgrave, the star of "Georgy Girl" and "Gods and Monsters," has died at the age of 67.

The star of the film hit "Georgy Girl" lost her battle with breast cancer.

Her publicist Rick Miramontez, speaking on behalf of her children, told The Associated Press that Redgrave died peacefully Sunday night at her Connecticut home surrounded by children Ben, Pema and Annabel.

"Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven-year journey with breast cancer," they said in a statement Monday. "She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time."

Redgrave was a member of one of Britain's most celebrated theatrical families. Her death comes a year after her niece Natasha Richardson died from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident, and just a month after the death of her older brother, Corin Redgrave.

18. life-long non-smoker redgrave dies after 7-year struggle with cancer & a lot of medical bills.
Like many others I suspect, I never really thought I could get breast cancer. There has been no breast cancer in the family until I had it. I have never smoked, I eat healthily, I exercise, I get check ups. I found the lump myself.
