Telephone numbers for everyone from people with equipment appropriate for skimming oil to those wanting to report injured animals.

It is probably absolutely chaotic on the ground, but this website indicates that our government is cool, calm, collected and well organized in responding to the crisis.

This website inspires confidence. Good work on the parts of the agencies involved.

Mistakes are bound to be made, but the competency of the Obama administration contrasts vividly with the ineptness of the Bush administration.

Who: U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mary Landry, Minerals Management Service Gulf of Mexico Head of Field Operations Mike Saucier, BP Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles. Representatives from the Department of Fish and Wildlife, NOAA, and Transocean will be available during the question and answer period.

What: Update to the response efforts surrounding the Deepwater Horizon incident.

That is exactly what the responders are supposed to do --- even the Red Cross, the Southern Baptist Mass Feeding Teams, the Salvation Army, and the Ham Radio Operators. They just couldn't do it at Katrina --- Rove and Company wanted to manage the political damage.
