What do you think will be the next major disaster?
oil, flooding, (failed truck bomb- (doesn't really count))

Airplane Crash?
Tornado?
Hurricane?
Bridge Collapse?
Shark Attacks! ( :P )

Somebody out there has to map events and frequency of occurrence...

40. I hope the hurricanes stay away this year... but they won't.
I'm seeing the next bad thing to hit is a hurricane coming up LA from the Gulf

Ever heard of Acid Rain? This would be Oil, Salty Rain. YUK

THAT would be bad.

31. Remind me: what's the difference?
And think of the smaller-scale disasters: e.g., Glen Beck swallows one of his blackboard erasers; Rush Limpball sets off major studio fire when his cigar ignites his oxycontin supply, and so on.

;-)

44. Difference is Space Aliens might be benign ....
even though Stephen Hawking thinks that is unlikely, but Republicans never are. They are more like the 7 year locusts which, I believe are due this year. Like the Republicans the locusts eat everything in their path until nothing edible is left standing, they clog roads and fill people's homes whether they are wanted or not. Again a Republican trait. Then when there is nothing left to eat they lay their eggs and go dormant for 7 more years until the next cycle begins. That the Republicans never do. They lay plenty of eggs, but they never go dormant.

The locusts could also count as a disaster. Would that fall under pestilence?

A lot of those big 5 foot mains (as well as the smaller ones) are a hundred or so and ready to blow which will cause plenty of flooding, ground water toxicity, property damage, and the spread of disease.

19. I don't want to tempt fate
there are just far too many different ways that either human folly or natural disaster are more than likely to take increasingly high tolls on us people in the coming years. At least with the natural disasters, you can't take it personally. Stupid accidents due to greed, on the other hand...

anyway, whatever it is that gets me, I just hope it doesn't hurt too much.

some of it will be done by republiCONS. Since they think they are on a roll. Anything to hell them win seats in November..

LIMBAUGH: I want to get back to the timing of the blowing up, the explosion out there in the Gulf of Mexico of this oil rig….Now, lest we forget, ladies and gentlemen, the carbon tax bill, cap and trade that was scheduled to be announced on Earth Day. I remember that. And then it was postponed for a couple of days later after Earth Day, and then of course immigration has now moved in front of it. But this bill, the cap-and-trade bill, was strongly criticized by hardcore environmentalist wackos because it supposedly allowed more offshore drilling and nuclear plants, nuclear plant investment. So, since they’re sending SWAT teams down there, folks, since they’re sending SWAT teams to inspect the other rigs, what better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants, than by blowing up a rig? I’m just noting the timing here.http://thinkprogress.org/2010/05/03/fox-oil-conspiracy/
