2 Boston councilors want city to boycott Arizona
May 3, 2010

BOSTON—Two Boston city councilors want the city to pull any investments from the state of Arizona in protest of the state's recently passed immigration law.

Councilors Michael Ross and Felix Arroyo (ah-ROY'-oh) Jr. said Monday that they are crafting a resolution asking city officials to find out what investments the city has with Arizona and Arizona-based companies, and pull that money immediately. The resolution would ask city employees not travel to Arizona for conferences or other city business.

The Arizona law requires local law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally.

Arroyo said the Arizona law legalized racial profiling and he doesn't want the city associated with the state while that law is on the books.

6. Good, the only thing they understand, money!
The pressure is working: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8263133 Arizona has decided not to put their Birther Bill up for a vote in the Senate. Apparently a few Republicans are having second thoughts and 'don't need the controversy. That law was aimed directly at President Obama.

So, one down, one to go! Good for Boston ~
