2. Do the hearts of freepers leap for joy when they see the environment destroyed?
Sorry for the ridiculous question. I know you first have to have a heart for it to leap for joy, let alone feel compassion for the victims of corporate irresponsibility...

6. well, there were plenty of DUers a couple of weeks ago lauding the offshore drilling thingy.
not sure where they are now, they seem to be very quiet on the issue.

9. Don't they, though?
I noticed that myself.

There are times when I feel that no matter how much I support a candidate, I am not going to support that candidate when he or she is just flat out wrongheaded.

There are no baby steps of progress when it comes to the oil business. I know.

3. Looks like microscopic images of disease in gulf blue-green plus pink-copper.

I once read something that I'm trying to find again. Edgar Cayce predicted the Gulf turning pink. I can't remember if he said algae or if that is what I thought. There was something like the Gulf of Mexico going dead? Still searching. Anyone.

8. Truely ugly pictures.
Looking at those picture is there any doubt we shouldn't have a government takeover of the greedy oil companies. A few years back some rich business execs wanted to pool their money and build a refinery. The oil companies told the banks NOT to loan them the money - what arrogance. The US patent office, until this last Aug, was led by a Bush appointed former oil co exec. Why hasn't Obama opened up some of those suppressed fuel saving patents?

11. We don't need a government takeover of greedy oil companies.
We need a government takeover of effective and tough regulation of greedy oil companies.

I.e, we need government to start doing its job better.
