I'm sickened on a physical level by this oil spill.
It makes me want to gag every time I see the footage. It's just that disgusting.

1. Rachel Maddow's show just had some footage of sea turtles washed up on shore

2. Yah, the dead turtles suck. But this is about a whole helluva lot more than 20 sea turtles....

Just a bit bummed that the turtles seems to be the "poster child" for this.

13. They are critically endangered and on the way out because of humans
not that any of the other animals or people impacted are less valuable. There population in the wild in was as low as 1000 animals.

15. Understood and appreciated. It just seems like every headline I see is a picture of a dead turtle.
Seems a bit narrow focus to me.

But yah it is one of several important things.

7. Wonder if testing of the turtles
will show they ingested a toxic chemical used by BP for oil dispersal..

9. I live in Alabama....II'm going to lose my favorite place on earth.
To say nothing of a whole way of life. It will take a generation to recover. I'm in my 50's so I won't see the recovery.

3. You ever see that moment in Star Wars when Yoda mentally feels all the Jedi dying?
Edited on Mon May-03-10 08:25 PM by wroberts189
That is how I feel only worse. It was a hard kick below the belt and in the stomach and chest and head etc.... we now all watch in horror about what we know is going to happen.

On edit: Let me add two more words: shock and disgust

8. I would have gone with the scene in New Hope where Obi-Wan feels Alberran getting destroyed...
but I'm just a traditionalist.

11. I feel like Princess Leia...
...when she watched her home planet Alderaan being blown up by the Death Star.

All you can do is stand by helplessly--as a bystander--as they destroy everything.

16. I dunno I'd rather deal with the oil spill
then let the galaxy fall into the hands of the Sith bringing about an intergalactic war that I can only imagine will result in the death of billions
