Who said yesterday "I want our country to be able to trust the oil industry." ?
<snip>
When she did refer to the unchecked gusher creating the worst environmental nightmare the Earth has ever seen, she called it "tragic" and defended offshore drilling as necessary for our national security, and then she said the most ridiculous words ever uttered in Independence, Missouri - and that is quite a feat given the Meth problem that burg deals with: "I want our country to be able to trust the oil industry."

"that unctuous little guttersnipe", You Betcha!

I wish I had thought of that name.

she's not a lady. She also doesn't deserve a seemingly "royal" title.

It is a great name though.

There is no depth so low this pathetic creature won't stoop to. I heard a Southerner say one time "Lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut". I think that's an apt description.

English is only my second language and there are times when the appropriate words fail me.

7. Another Southern saying:
She'd have to get on a ladder to look a snake in the eye.

I have rarely in my life despised anyone as thoroughly; the living, breathing, walking embodiment of a "lowlife".

If only she were nothing more than a sideshow freak. Entertainment like the bearded lady or the two-headed calf of yesteryear's county fair. But there are too many people who actually take her seriously, although, heaven help me, I cannot get that fact through my skull.

Still, we need to be careful and not discount her so easily. We may call her Caribou Barbie, Tundra Tart, Pitbull with Lipstick, whatever. There is something about her which appeals to base instincts.

What frightens me is that Joseph Goebbels, in my country of birth, was by no means the prototype of the "Aryan man", short, skinny and club-footed as he was. But when all was said and done, he was the one who whipped the base into a frenzy as the Pied Piper. And this is a quality (in quotation marks) I see in Palin as well. Never underestimate the power of stupidity, ignorance and hatred.

10. Malaise, I want to laugh.... but can't.
I come from a country which has brought so much misery on millions of others. My father was the one who instilled in me a sense of being watchful for the first signs. Maybe I need to put on my tinfoil hat, but what I see out there scares me.
