I'm taking a deep breath and recognizing that shit is screwing up all over the place right now |
|
Edited on Tue May-04-10 07:03 AM by howard112211
These last weeks are making my head spin:
Arizona law, Oil gusher, Volcano ash cloud, Nashville flood, NY City bomb plot, militias planning to attack police, coal mine explosion....
Must suck to be in charge of managing all that shit while overseeing to wars at the same time.

3. Clinton commented on this |
|
After he was out of office, Clinton mentioned that one of the harder parts about the job is that you spend time planning your agenda. You campaign upon it and you select a cabinet to execute it. Then you work with the congress to plot a course for the agenda to try to see it through the legislation process.
Then there is a hurricane, or some BSE tainted beef, or the North Koreans act up, or the PDB says that terrorists are at the gate, or any other number of things and it all interrupts your agenda. People talk about "staying on message" but the reality of the job is that EVERYTHING is your job. And not just here. A sunami in India, a sunken Russian submarine, coup in Africa, or a flood in Nepal and it is all your job to "do something".
It's a tough job, but they ask for it, they spend 2 years campaigning for it, they raise literally hundreds of millions of dollars to get the job. Okay, here it is, do it right.

6. As Ferris Said "Life Moves Fast"... |
|
During the dark days of the boooosh regime, I saw how screwed up things had gotten and felt there was a scorched earth policy to leave the biggest mess possible for the next administration...especially if it looked like it would be a Democrat. The last year was a particular disaster as years of corruption, "deregulation" and fleecing the treasury began to take a toll. I predicted that a majority of the next 4 years would be cleaning up the messes of the past 8. Seems like that's what is going on.
Add to this a corrupt corporate media that has the attention span of a fruit fly and creates all sorts of distractions that make it double tough for this regime to push through the needed changes, indicative of the cesspool they live in within the beltway where money and power trump what is right or needed. It leads to the watering down of reforms and the slow reactions from this administration.
Yep, these messes are deep...and there are those who expected the world to change on a dime the moment President Obama took over. Reality says different.

7. But Look How The Guy Is Handling It...... |

he seems to be thriving on it. And you know what - the MSM is looking for any chinks in the armor to take him down at a moments notice. I'm glad he's in the WH.
