Is the suspected bomber a "lone wolf"? |
|
Edited on Tue May-04-10 09:18 AM by kentuck
Did he do this all by himself? Did he drive the SUV into Times Square and park it? Or did he have help?
It is reported that he returned from Pakistan about 2 months ago. He was on a plane to Dubai. Was he trying to get back to Pakistan or some other country?
Also, did they take 3 other individuals off the plane last night with the suspect? Were they profiling?
Did this guy act alone? I doubt it.

1. I'd characterize him as a Lone Dumbass |

When I was 16 I could have built a more reliable bomb.

Remember the "Pakistan Taliban" claimed responsibility. If that claim originated overseas, it was probably more than a single person. It it originated domestically, it would of been discarded as a high school prank.

4. Bridgeport is a Moonie town...Moon owns the university there. |
|
Bush-Moon alliance (intel alliance) goes back to the 60s. There is no reason to TRUST that this guy operated for his OWN reasons. Sounds like he was MEANT to get caught, too.

7. i don't think the moonies affiliation with the university turns bridgeport into a "moonie" town |
|
Bridgeport has a population of around 138,000 University of Bridgeport has around 6000 students
You have any link suggesting a connection between the suspect and the U of B?

16. The suspect never went to Uinversity of Bridgeport. Yeah, it is a horrible school. |
|
It took help and money from the Moonies because of past financial troubles and I sure as hell wouldn't have gone to school there...totally unsafe campus. (I went to CCSU, which had some minor safety issues but was pretty good in comparison). But there is no link to the this school and Faisal Shahzad.

24. you think Poppy Bush/Moon haven't set up ops like this over the last 5 decades? |
|
Edited on Tue May-04-10 04:04 PM by blm
you do know they go way back as intel buddies, don't you?
Poppy got away with pinning Iraqgate on that 'lone wolf' bank manager Christopher Drogoul, too, didn't he?
imo, the fascist hawks who still seem to control the debate in DC, WANT cover to go further into Pakistan and an op like this would guarantee it AND give Pakistan's leaders cover for why US military has to act on this. here and in Pakistan that a blind man could track,,,,and....is giving up info easily, isn't he?

12. That's pretty much what Richard Clark said on KO show last |
|
night. He said thisd guy was serious & obviously intended to create chaos and cause great harm, but failed. He most likely is a lone wolf, but it's extremely difficult to find people like that. It's much easier to find cells and links to them. His biggest fear is the next lone wolf who will be successful.

11. I think it's entirely possible he was a dupe |
|
They guy is married with two kids, so those could be the other three.
It's possible a terrorist group used him as a dupe to find out how easily this sort of operation could be carried out, though I think it unlikely.
They guy's home was recently foreclosed on, too. Could be a self radicalized jihadist like Hasan, especially with the Viacom connection.

13. At some point, I think people need to consider motivation, as in, |
|
unless people think that Pakistanis or muslims or South Asians are congenitally born to be terrorists, and I'm sure some do, a reasonable person must concede that people don't just arbitrarily wake up one day and decide to commit horrible crimes punishable by prison sentences, all for no reason.
Frankly, I spend less time on DU these days because too many here are unwilling to think about such complicated questions, and rather go for the Kumbaya rejoinder or personal insults. (Some such members, thankfully, have been tombstoned.)

15. Since the bomb didn't work, a few more people are willing... |
|
...to consider that the would-be bomber at least could have been a "lone wolf" than we'd normally have around here.
If dozens or hundreds had been killed, the mere fact that the bomb had worked (which wouldn't really require that much more smarts or expertise or coordination with some shadowy network, just a slightly smarter lone wolf) would have had a large DU contingent absolutely, positively certain that some "THEY" had planned it all to distract us from the oil spill, to increase Republican chances in the fall elections, to promote war in Afghanistan, etc.
God forbid we take the time to wait for more evidence to come in to decided. It would no doubt be mostly disinformation anyway, so why wait for it when you can quickly and easily leap to a paranoid mega-conspiratorial conclusion now? :tinfoilhat: :eyes:

Probably the CIA helped him. I hear they can put together that much money in less than a week when they have to.
