Was the Senator Kaufman decision too hasty?
He was appointed, and pledged not to seek election. Then the expected candidate chose not to be. Senator Kaufman, in listening to him in committee and on the Senate floor appears to be amongst the best and the brightest. Perhaps the Democratic Party should ask him to reconsider his plan.
