The suspect in a failed attempted to detonate a car bomb in Times Square has implicated himself and is cooperating with authorities in an investigation that is spreading overseas as investigators look for links to the plot in the would-be bomber's native Pakistan, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old U.S. citizen who immigrated from Pakistan, was arrested late Monday at John F. Kennedy International Airport while attempting to flee the country, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said.

In a news conference to discuss Shahzad's arrest in connection with the Saturday night incident in Times Square, Holder said prosecutors expect to charge Shahzad with an attempted act of terrorism, attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and assorted explosives offenses, among other charges. Shahzad is due to appear in federal court in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon.

"We continue to pursue a number of leads as we gather useful intelligence," Holder said. But he had no comment on reports that authorities in Pakistan, where Shahzad was heading when he was detained, have carried out multiple arrests in connection with the case.

1. After the last few years one wonders if the guy implicated himself after a couple dozen rides on
"Ol' Dunky" the waterboard or if it was just proven, non-violent interrogation techniques that worked on this suspect.

2. Who would have waterboarded him?

3. With Torquemada out of the vice presidency
I think we can safely assume it was a cup of coffee and a smoke that got the guy to break, pretty much all it takes according to most cops.
