Disturbing news re net neutrality and FCC Chairman
I’ve got disturbing news: FCC Chairman Julius Genachoswki is reportedly wavering on his promise to protect Net Neutrality and promote universal Internet access.

It’s hard to believe, but, according to the Washington Post1, Genachowski may sit on his hands rather than “reclassify” broadband so the FCC can protect our rights online.

This would be a colossal mistake — one that threatens the Internet as we know it. We’ve got to take action immediately.

Call Chairman Genachowski Now and Tell Him:
Reclassify Broadband and Protect the Open Internet
202.418.1000

A recent federal appeals court decision jeopardized the FCC’s authority to establish Net Neutrality protections and to carry out its national broadband plan.

Chairman Genachowski can fix this by reclassifying broadband as a “telecommunications service” under Title II of the Communications Act, where it should have been in the first place.

If he doesn’t reclassify broadband, companies like Comcast, AT&T and Verizon will be able to block any website, blog post, tweet or outreach by a political campaign — and the FCC will be powerless to stop them.

We’re outraged that Genachowski would even consider letting this happen. Call the FCC now and tell Genachowski to stand up to the industry pressure, keep his promises and do the right thing.

Take 2 Minutes to Call the FCC Right Now:
Phone: 202.418.1000

If you don't get through, call 888-225-5322, and press "130" to speak with a human. You can let us know how your call went by e-mailing us at savetheinternet@freepress.net.

We can’t stand by and accept another broken promise, another Washington letdown. We have to draw the line here.

Thank you,
