Here is how I feel about it anyway:
America wants Accountability. That is what they/we wanted in 1994 when the Republicans were swept into office. Americans were conned by the Republicans then. They not only did not hold anyone accountable but they went off on a crime spree that is still ongoing. People are pissed. They are mad that they were so badly fooled and they are mad at what America has become because of the lack of accountability. IMO that is what we should continue to run on and actually follow through on our promises. If we promise accountability then we damn well better deliver. Waxman gets it, Conyers gets it, Kerry gets it, but there are just too damn many that don't get it..They just seem to think once Bush* is gone everything will be okay. As long as our government is being sold to the highest bidder and as long as we stay an aggressor nation that tortures and kills indiscriminatly everything will not be okay.. Accountability, let's demand it and actually run on the promise of it...That is why I am a very strong supporter of Impeachment. It is the only way we can hold them accountable. Just waiting til their term is up just won't get it. It establishes the precedent that you can do anything you want as long as you can stall long enough to finish your term...If Impeachment is not begun before 2008 then the Democrats are no better than the Republicans and in fact will have become accomplices..just my $.02 worth

1. You know we call you 'Crazy Toots'
behind your back? I can't even spell 'acontabillitee'. :7

My pipe dream is that I will wake up someday and all these criminals will be behind bars and the Constitution will mean something again.

2. We can dream I suppose. I am not so sure as you are that the people
are really interested in accountability. Accountability means taking steps to correct the wrongs committed. Accountability means looking in the mirror and acknowledging our complicity in the disaster our nation has become.

It is just so much easier to pretend that all our problems started in 2001.

3. Most Americans don't pay attention to politics. But, among those
who do pay attention, I believe accountability is an overriding issue. But this is why the Bush admin. has been able to run roughshod over America. Most people AREN'T paying attention.
