ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: While giving an ode to her own “mommy” - The First Grandmother of the United States - Michelle Obama got a little choked up.

“As our family have grown, she’s managed to expand her love for all of us. And raising our girls in the White House with my mom,” the First Lady paused, put her hand on chest, and then finished, daring herself not to try, “oh, not going to do this -- is a beautiful experience. And the opportunity to have three generations living in the White House, it’s beautiful. “

With her mother seated at her side, the First Lady was joined for a spot of tea this afternoon for a Mother’s Day event in the State Dining Room.

She said it is impossible to measure how much her own mother, and other women in her life, have meant to her.
