3. The KC media is ignoring this.
I posted a thread about it this morning. They are more interested in police standoffs and fake gunmen at Sprint.

Please keep posting about this. It is such an awful tragedy. I had a good friend in college from Greensburg. It is a nice town.

5. Oh jeez, just DO what needs to be done and don't make an issue out of it!
Beware today also, hoping no more tornadoes though weather report looks iffy. Huge strong winds are really scary. I really really really hate winds. Best of luck to you and all there.

10. I grew up in mid-west, hate air-raid/tornado sirens. My pa never saw a tornado.
He said he looked for them all the time but was never in the right place. I hate that sky, when it looks like that. Our house was missed by 5 houses when I was a child, under the stairs in the basement. Go get what you need, go home and hang out. Keep shoes nearby all night. Pants/shirt too, but definetely sturdy shoes.

While we should make no bones about the wrong-headedness and racism that surrounded helping folks after Katrina, we shouldn't make the lives of other disaster survivors miserable to make a point.

Black, white, brown, red or yellow: people who have survived Mother Nature's bad moods (to put it lightly) should be helped in any way possible.
