13. Major difference from my perspective
In great part to do the role of women in society at that time versus this time.
I always saw Jackie as an extension, almost a possession of JFK. Like I said, it was the times and that was most frequently a woman's role.
Michelle is a strong person on her own.

26. Jackie came into her own after losing JFK.
She raised two wonderful children in the process. Considering the priviledge, wealth, and fame these kids had, that is exceptional. Both Jackie and Michelle are to be looked at as strong, poised, admirable women.

55. I hate her too tight cardigans--especially when she belts them.
When she dresses well, she looks absolutely stunning, but some of her signature styles don't look good at all (mainly the over the top belts--especially that silly black belt with the studs-the too tight knit cardigans, and the pink and blue argyle cardigans with the uneven hemline).

The red dress in that pic (and the blue gown) are great. I loved the sleveless black sheath she wore in her official WH portrait, as well as the sleveless purple dress she wore at his first SoTU address. Sometimes she gets it rbeathtakingly right--and sometimes not so much.

27. it's propaganda for the people magazine crowd
but that doesn't negate the fact that they are a handsome couple.

people make voting decisions for weird reasons sometimes.

(fwiw, regal isn't a positive to me since it implies anti-democratic, but again, it's for the people magazine crowd.)

28. people basing their voting preference on a 'look'
should be banned from voting...yes...banned. i personally don't really care for their appearance...but i would never base a vote on someone's looks. i would almost prefer we never even saw them (not just them...any of our leaders) and just based our voting decisions on policy...and i realize also that is not at all realistic...just a pipe dream of mine.

statements based on a media facade. you really don't know if she is a good mom. you are basing your opinions on information that someone is feeding you...and that is all. oh, well, it would also appear that you are basing your opinion of her (them) on appearance... so i do care...because to me, people like you are dangerous.

on appearances...they are dangerous...and simple (and i mean that in the 'lacking in intelligence' sense of simple). those people piss in my cheerios every day...because you cannot get away from them. they are everywhere...and their very presence is a symptom of the disease that infests our world...

40. She is so gorgeous BUT sometimes...
I just want to unleash a mother-scream at her "Stand up straight!" "Don't slouch!"

Maybe she has a back problem I don't know about, but sometimes her posture nearly ruins her looks. Then occasionally choosing a wide belt that unnecessarily accentuates the problem, making her abdomen look almost pregnant drives me crazy.

She is a stunner but please please "Stand up straight!"

I am also very tall, and at times (often?) instinctively slouch to "hide my height" and get closer to the level of the shorter people I am with. And yes, I have been criticized for it, mother included :-)

47. One of the many things I admire about MIchelle is whether she is in
a gown by a famous designer or in her capris and sneakers working in her garden, she is the same person. Nothing supercilious or phoney about her. What you see is what you get. I guess I'm saying she takes her role in stride and does not take herself seriously to the point of aloofness. She is a First Lady who will not be forgotten for the ages.
