http://www.couragecampaign.org/page/s/dontdelayondadtDuring his State of the Union address, President Obama pledged to work to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" this year. However, on April 30, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates sent a letter to House Armed Services Chair Ike Skelton which appears to indefinitely delay the possibility of moving forward with the repeal of DADT until the Pentagon completes a review of the policy
Please join Gov. Howard Dean, the Courage Campaign and Democracy for America and call on President Obama to use the power of his office to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell" this year:
President Barack Obama:
We, the undersigned, stand with Governor Howard Dean and his call not to delay repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy banning gays and lesbians from openly serving in the military.
The time to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is now. We urge you to take immediate action to insure that Congress includes the repeal of DADT -- with an implementation timeline -- in this year's Defense Authorization bill currently under consideration.
