SHAMA DRAMA at Opi's House....for weeks friends and I watched a pair

of White Rump Shamas build a new nest under the roof eave.

From nest materials to the stages of feeding their young...we were all anxious to see baby Shamas ....until yesterday...

One Myna got into nest and it was all over....one chick died fron the 2 story fall....

the other...miricles of miricles...survived with no observable injuries

Eyes still closed..."Chirpy" is eating everything in sight...

Anyone who has Shama rearing experience...please respond

what do we need to avoid hurting/killing "Chirpy"

Otherwise find some worms and chop them up for feed.

3. The pair were feeding insects until the myna came into picture...

Shamas were intro'd in Hawaii about 80 years ago

They have established residence

We are blessed to have a pair sing to us everyday

"Chirpy" still alive eating bugs, chicken, and prime ribs

the Shama has not responded yet

other than opening its mouth to feed.

Eyes still closed...but reacts to light...

Mynahs had taken over the nest...since then destroyed...

The Parents was only seen twice since their tramatic loss
