Veterans: Check in if you've been in a combat zone with people shooting at you |

Me: Tet of '68 and the invasion of Cambodia in 1970.
Outside of a small case of PTSD and a really bad attitude I came out the other side OK.

Been doing this since '85. Ranger Regiment 85-89; NG 90-95; back on active duty in '95.
Just returned from AFG. Never quite get used to the loud bangs around the house.

I used to post on Usenet, and the Religion/Theology forum here on DU. Does that count?
USAF 1984-1988 Can't remember the unit, because I hated it. Commander was a tool. I got my revenge, though...

I went over with the battalion in May 67. We started out at Long Binh and built the post up to get the log base out of Saigon. Then we moved out on the roads to build the Line of Communications north to 1st Inf Div and 25th Inf Div. We built the big bridge over the Saigon River at Phu Cuong. I ran a rock quarry located between Bien Hoa and Di An at a place called Xom Tam. Most of the rock and gravel used in the 1st Inf Div and the 199th Inf Bde areas of operation came from my quarry.
