Poll question: What will happen in your Congressional District this election?
Edited on Sun May-09-10 03:39 PM by ThomWV
I think the 5 possible answers I've provided will cover the majority of races.

We are in West Virginia's 1's Congressional District where incumbent Alan Mollihan is being challenged in the Primary by Mike Oliverio. Mr. Oliverio, a "conservative Democrat" is now a State Senator; reading his stance on issues on his web page would leave you with the impression he is a Republican. Mr Mollihan is anything but inspiring, but other than coal issues he is on the right side of most every vote; I can live with him in office. On the Republican side the major contender is a fellow named Mark Warner. Headlines in the state's 3rd largest newspaper noted this past friday that Mr. Warner's family is being sued for over $20 million for some sort of financial fraud - not so good for his election chances.

So for this district I'd take choice 1, my Democratic Congress person will retain their seat.

How's it look in your district?

5. My republican congressman is retiring and his seat will be won by an even bigger asshole
It looks like our worthless congressman will be succeeded by THIS POS:

For those who are not familiar with Pombo, he represented an adjacent district for many years until he was defeated by a Democrat a few years back. He has now carpetbagged into our district in an attempt to start sucking on the public tit again. He is currently in a primary fight with a few other losers who are only slightly better than he is. There is absolutely no chance that a Democrat would be successful in getting elected from our wing nutty district.

20. I'd bet that the Republican candidate (also undecided) will win.
I also believe Hodes will lose his bid for a promotion.

I hope I'm wrong on both counts, but I'll bet I'm not.

22. I'm worried about Hodes winning, but Katrina Swett just got into
the Congressional race and she looks like she could be a winner. Let's hope. New Hampshire was going so blue I'd hate to see it revert.

17. I hope for change after my experience in my districts
So I recently came into the know about this website at www.comitium.tv it had a great idea concerning elections. The idea is to make elections cheaper and to give us a voice though the internet by supporting an online town hall. So I go onto my state(California) and saw that not one of my candidates in the 2010 elections is on it. The site seems new so I thought I would help them out and call up my candidates to see if they would talk with me and other people in their respective districts with it. One candidate after another would not even talk to me, I just got some election helper. In a time with the internet at everyone's finger tips way wouldn't a candidate appeal to there districts using an online town hall such as comitium.tv . It seems like a much more personal way to connect with voters or do they just not want to talk to us? I tend to be liberal but I am telling you this much my vote will go to however starts using something like comitium.tv to get my vote. There should be no reason not to be able to talk with our candidates online in the age of the internet.

18. I thank dog that my Rep is Rosa DeLauro here in New Haven!
She is a strong liberal progressive and an ally of President Obama. She is hard working and consistently liberal and progressive. She has significant support among white Italian ethnic voters and other liberals, and minorities. I know people who have worked for her and I think highly of her record...
