GO STREET SENSE!
He's the first Breeder's Cup Juvenile winner ever to win the Derby :)
I know who I'm rooting for to win the Triple Crown ;)

3. My parents just called me from the Derby...
Edited on Sat May-05-07 05:24 PM by Scooter24
they both had bets on SS. Nervous at first, but they are ecstatic now.

Great race. I wonder what the Queen's opinion on the race was? She looked to be having a great time.

4. I don't follow the horses or races, but we had it on this evening, and
I love it that horses get to be on television, and that when the woman with the red microphone rode her horse up to Borel, he was wracked with joy and crying all at once, his voice cracking with emotion, and yet it was only seconds into the response to her question that he credited the horse.

Congratulations to all the horses, and to Street Sense. Looks like a beautiful animal to me.

5. I just won a whopping 3 bucks by picking the fave.
But I bet before I knew he was the fave.

Still his name sounds like a clothing line.

No offense intended.

6. I always have to watch the 3 big races by myself because I cry
like a damn baby. Race horses are beautiful creatures and they race their hearts out. This was an amazing race with SS coming from 19th place to win. What a horse, what a jockey. On to the next one, Street Sense - you can do it.

8. According to the broadcasters, there had been some talk about the jockey
not being up for a Derby race, or being washed up, or too old or out of it, or something like that. I only got a piece of that segment.

I bet that talk died down a bit after a 19th-to-first finish.

9. I am so pleased for Calvin. I used to own a wonder filly with a
group of friends, including my two daughters...Leo's Gypsy Dancer... a great come from behind winner...several stakes wins and finishes in the money. Calvin rode her several times. He is a fine jockey who is not usually allowed Derby contenders. I am so proud he got to ride the horse and I really admire the trainer for his loyalty and faith. I have never seen a jockey more thrilled to win the race.

11. What you say about him is exactly what exuded from the TV
He seems like a great person and it's great to see someone react like he did. It was great.

10. That horse came from almost dead last around the turn
to win. And won with authority.

12. I hope he wins the Triple Crown.
I have never seen a triple crown winner since I've been alive. That is one of the sports moments I am still waiting to happen.
