24. Yeah, cause I'm sure then that the next choice would send the left into orgasm,
or some kind of spasm.

2. Let's see her record.....
..show me that she's a clear cut, unabashed liberal who will defend liberal views and positions when the court is deciding cases and I will support her.

And I mean clear cut. I don't want to have to read between the lines to glean that she is a liberal and I do not want simply a "I trust Obama so I support his nomination" line of defense for her either.

The whole thing reeks of the "Well this will be easiest approach rather than actually having to have a fight." that seems to define this administration.

8. I'm tired of these people with less documented background
than a DMV clerk could pull up on your or me as we stand waiting at the counter.

13. I think it is very hard to form a firm opinion...
Given she has no real record of opinions. I take heart in the fact that she clerked for Marshall, but I also respect Glenn Greenwald's opinions and her one area that has been somewhat explored is her support for (extreme) executive powers in terms of detainees.

On the other hand, I have to think that even centrists like most of the Obama admin would not want to see more conservative movement within the US Supreme Court and that they should know her reasonably well given her work in Chicago, Harvard, Clinton admin and on Biden's judicial committee...

We shall see, I guess.

9. No. The imperial presidency legacy continues.
It will take another generation to straighten things out if it ever will be.

11. At a time when we desperately need to move back from the far right to the center....
we inch further to the right.

It's the main theme of the Obama presidency.

10. We need a black lesbian on the Supreme Court.
Really, we do. That would restore balance. Kagan? Not so much.

16. There is no such thing as "right for everyone."
We got "right for everyone" with Roberts and Alito.

How's that worked out for you? If you're a foreign corporation, pretty well because you can now buy the politicians you want who will best serve your needs... :eyes:

We're supposed to replace the most liberal Justice with one of corporate whore Obama's choices? It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.
