Oklahoma Republican used taxpayer dollars to blast government spending
In a piece of very campaign-like literature recently mailed by Rep. Mary Faillin (R-OK), complaints of wasteful government spending abound.

The message would seem sincere, were it not for a block of small text noting that the congresswoman paid for the mailer with taxpayer funds.

On the document, which declares that the congresswoman wants to "reduce the tax burden on all Americans," Rep. Fallin touts her conservative credits by noting she voted against the "government regulation of health care," the stimulus, the "potential job-killing" cap and trade measures and the president's entire 2010 budget.

On the front of her full-color, professionally designed placard, printed in small, thin text, a message reads: "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense."

This mailer followed this:

Hypocrisy thy name is Republican.

1. The Greeks refused to pay their taxes
and look where it got them. Teabaggers are going to take the ship of state down and they don't care so long as their tax dollars don't help anyone in need.

8. Somehow, politicians need to publicly recognize & foreswear the support of persons who very
concretely "cut their own nose off to spite YOUR face". This is a very real psychological trait and such persons should have only the most provisional political credibility. Unfortunately, they are treated as though they are as legitimate participants in political processes as any other more responsible voter.

:hi: Welcome to DU, robin84, have fun! :hi:

2. Fallin is a hate filled, racist, homophobic, hypocritical piece of garbage.
She's voted against everything that might HELP Oklahomans.

And she's all for things that divide, separate, and promote big business.

That little mailer was more important than putting money toward a state bridge that is collapsing, or any one of hundreds of other concerns that might actually help the public.

Identifying her as a hypocrite is about as nice a description as I could come up with. :puke:

3. How does she pronounce her last name?
If it's with a long a, she'd be the perfect vice-presidential pick for a Palin ticket.

4. shouldn't the solicitor general be calling on
this woman? I thought it was illegal to use taxpayers money to send out crap like that. (But during 8 years of *, it is possible they removed that law as well)

6. Hey Mary - I can find you $500 billion dollars real quick!
If you cut the military budget by half to $500 billion dollars, the military budget is still 165% of what it was in 2000. Problem ameliorated.

9. She is a nasty one
When she was lt governor she and her Highway patrol escort were caught down by the lake getting it on. She and he denied it said they were only taking a break but the evidence was there, clothes all a flitter looking as if they were hastily put back on, both her and him. Her husband divorced her and the patrol mans wife divorced him over this. The last thing we need here in oklahoma is for her to be elected to the governorship. If she can't be trusted to keep her panties on then what can she be trusted with. The last thing we need is a governor who will compromise themselves in such a manner. It should be easy to find using google, if it hasn't been scrubbed that is and now that I think about it it probably has been, but I have no maybe intention of looking for it as I find her to be so disgusting. Other Oklahoma DU'ers should be able to substantiate what I just said. This was all about 8 maybe 9 years ago.

I don't ask for many favors but I do ask that if anyone out there can help us to not elect this person it will be greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure many other Democratic voters here in Oklahoma.

10. Defeating Fallin
Will be tough. I think she's a 2 or 3 to 1 favorite at this point. We seem to love our miscreants here in OK as long as they are repubs. Wonder if she'll use her congressional campaign slogan of "faith, family, freedom" for her gubernatorial campain ? If so, I hope someone calls her on her affair. Maybe change the slogan to "faith, family, fellatio".

13. We're going to have to work but we can do it
remember when it was going to be Largent as governor up to and until the election where WE elected Governor Henry instead, a much better choice. I think he's done a good job considering the legislature he's had to deal with. I was reading the other day that we are the number 1 in pre-k education for the last 7 years running. That would be under Henry's watch.
