Jobless Recovery?
Edited on Mon May-10-10 09:15 AM by berni_mccoy
Heard Brokaw on Morning Joe declare the recovery was still jobless. Really? I've got a thousand words for him:

2. I know I know. Today it's his SCOTUS pick. But the graph was just updated...
so I had to discuss it.

5. True. Would you prefer to continue having hundreds of thousands of job LOSSES?
Edited on Mon May-10-10 09:23 AM by berni_mccoy
Obama isn't a magical wizard who can instantly restore the millions of jobs lost under Bush.

7. Sorry.
I might be overly sensitive. It sounded to me as if your response was pointing at the mountain of work remaining, which I do not deny. Yes we are not out of the woods, by far, but we now have a compass and Obama is leading us in the right direction.

8. Oh, I was very much pointing at the mountain of work remaining.

Seven million is a hell of a number, and frankly, I'd like to see a lot more leadership from Obama on jobs than I have so far. But in no way do I "want" to see more job losses and in no way did I ever think this battleship would turn around overnight.

I accept your apology.

4. There is no such thing as a jobless recovery.
You either recovery with all the jobs necessary to employ your citizens or you don't recover. It's like saying you are going on a diet while still eating everything and anything you want. Neither things can happen.

This jobless recovery meme was started under the bushes. It's a way to mask the tens of millions of jobs sent to China and India. It's a way of hiding the inequality of our American society so that fat greedy rich men can feel good about running another con to get billions while millions of people lose their jobs because of what that fat rich man just did.

It's a way of saying that the unemployed are so unimportant to American society that America can fully recover from an economic crash without even including them in the recovery.

A jobless recovery is a figment of a RepubliCON's imagination.

9. Well, ok, not completely jobless
But if the jobs are in India, China, South America, then it can appear to be a jobless recovery.

Especially to those of us without jobs.
