Flanders re-capped what had happened with the funding bill that was vetoed and took a few calls. They got as far as discussing the fact that Dems seemed more concerned with their re-election potential than they were about ongoing horror in Iraq and the similarity between now and the Vietnam era.
At the end of the interview, Ellsberg said that he thought they hadn't gotten to the most important issues in their conversation and Laura failed to ask him if he would stay on the line. He was volunteering to do so and she just let him go - it was very disappointing.
I wanted to hear his strategy - does he agree with Gravel that we need a courageous Senator to filibuster? Does he agree with Edwards that the bill with timelines should be returned to the WH over and over?
I wanted to hear his strategy and he didn't get that far in the interview.
