If the LAPD wants to shoot and beat unarmed brown people ...
Why not send them all to Iraq?

If they want to bash the legs of brown children with their clubs for the crime of not walking fast enough, then they should be the ones partaking in our country’s occupation of the Iraqi people.

If they want to disguise themselves in riot gear and unanimously beat, kick and shoot Mexican children, pregnant women and unarmed men - as well as the journalists documenting the abuses - then those criminals need to be stripped of their badges, guns and indistinguishable uniforms and thrown in the California State Prison system.

Then maybe they can take out their frustrations on the real Chicano criminal.

Because as it is right now, they are no worse than the Nazi war criminals who we fought against back in the 1940s.

If you don’t believe me, check out the videos, then check out these photos of Nazi soldier abuses.

4. RIM....Many of them may be Iraq or Afghan vets.
Once upon a time, I worked with a metro police department. And many joined the police department after military duty.

9. But the thing is, there is a huge difference between the LAPD
and the PD in the upscale hoods surrounding LA.

How does that work? It's also about leadership and admin attitude, imho. I lived in Santa Monica and buffered between families dealing with mental illness and the PD. We got along great -- on the same page. LAPD, forget it. There is an entrenched attitude about bad guys and good guys that never allows for actual humanity.

6. Having lived in the LA area from 1959-89

I can tell you with no reservation that the LAPD are America's worst. Not only have I been a witness to their outrageous abuses of civil rights, I was once a recipient.

The Chicago PD has a reputation as the most abusive city PD in the country, but I believe LA's "finest" would put them to shame. As for the county, the LA Sheriff's Dept. is no better, and may even be worse than LAPD. Police abuse has long been a problem in Southern California but it appears they're doing nothing about it.

I'm glad I don't live there any more.

10. Don't get me wrong - I meant Simi Valley
Edited on Sun May-06-07 11:21 PM by Spiffarino
I should have been more specific. I lived in Simi Valley for twenty-five of those years; the five I didn't were in the SF Valley.

I still love California and visit as often as possible, but as for Simi Valley...I just couldn't live anywhere near Reagan's carcass. You can almost taste the bad karma.
