The way I see the SCOTUS.
I was taught that the purpose of the Supreme Court of the United State of America, was to not only interpret the Constitution but to uphold it. It's a job that they haven't been doing very well lately IMHO because partisan politics are being played in the highest court in the land. The SCOTUS had no authority whatsoever to meddle in the Presidential election of 2000. It was supposed to be the jurisdiction of the states and the Florida Supreme Court was supposed to call the shots, yet the SCOTUS overruled Florida and we got Bush for President. IMO those justices should have been impeached at the very least for this and they should have been tried for treason because that is what had happened and fifty years from now history will judge this to be true.

Now today, I don't care about the politics of the new judges providing that they understand what their job is and that is to interpret and uphold the Constitution. Bringing politics into it to me is in violation of their oath of office. So when people argue about whether those judges are lefties or righties, it shows me right away that the process has been corrupted and we have corruption that needs to be rooted out in the highest court of the land. It's the Constitution that rules the Supremes not the RNC nor the DNC and everyone should keep that in mind.

1. The acronym "SCOTUS" just sounds, you know, "naughty".
Of course, so does "POTUS" when you think about it.

2. Just pull your mind out of wherever it is
to a higher plane of thought. It's too much to type out the whole thing. Acronyms are just easier. :-)
