I'm having trouble getting excited about Elena Kagan.
I just feel like she's such a blank slate at this point. I don't know enough yet.

13. The point is that since she hasn't been a judge, spending most of her career in academia
and in government, there isn't as much track record to rely on as other potential nominees.

2. I think that's the point of most people who are uncomfortable
We cannot afford an unknown quantity at a time when known quantities are available.

5. It has nothing to do with us. It is politics.
The less the public knows, the fewer hooks the Republicans will have to smear and obstruct her.

3. She's OK.
she's a safe liberal-ish sorta candidate that doesn't have any baggage except for:

1) Kicking the military out of Harvard, was embarrassed by the thumping from the Supreme Court. (not that I care... but is fodder for the MSM.)

2) Quoting T. Marshall saying the Constitution was "defective" (again, if you research the quote, he was right... btu the MSM will distort it)

3) Some BUSH-era quotes re: taking prisoners on the battlefield and their rights.

7. Word is she's as tough as nails in an argument.
Which sounds good, anyway.

8. I'm sure that this is why Obama likes her.
Probably a lot like how he seems himself.

Not an idealogue, but a consensus builder.

11. No relation -- Kagan is a very common Jewish surname.
