How long should British Petroleum be given to fix the damage |
they and several other corporations have caused in the Gulf of Mexico before the government siezes the property and assets of these corporations to begin a Manhatten Project style process calling on the best minds available to get this job done and done right. Then, after the damage has been undone, our government could then sell us the gas they now own for 10 cents a gallon.

I'm waiting for the inevitable "Sea life loves petroleum in the water!" nonsense from our friends in the GOP. After all, we've been assured that only dirty fucking hippies care about clean drinking water and breathable air. A little tritium in your system could be good for acne. Prove it isn't. And besides, if you start oppressing corporations with the heavy hand of government regulation, they'll pick up and go elsewhere. Imagine a gallon of gas costing over two three four five dollars! And unemployment running at 10%!

5. You have to know there is no answer to that question - what alternative is there? |
OK, let's say their time runs out tonight at midnight - then what? Do you think there is anyone or any other group that might stand a better chance of getting the oil stopped? It will be done as fast as is humanly possible, that we know, and no resource on earth will be denied to the project, our Government will make sure of that - so just what alternative do you think there is?

6. As I mentioned, a Manhatten Project approach |
Bring in the Navy, enlist some of the best engineers on the planet. We didn't know the A-bomb would really work, but we went ahead with that project because we thought our future depended on it. I'm saying it's time for a government run project, not a private for profit corporate money grab. Because in this case the bottom line has nothing to do with a balance sheet.

8. Wouldn't those "best minds" |
be associated with the, oh I don't know, the oil industry? Plus, siezing the assests of foreign owned corporations isn't really a very good way to win friends and influence people.
