Announcing ... the first ever BP 6th Grade Science Fair Competition!!

Your mission, junior high boys and girls, is to find a way to plug a giant hole spewing thousands of gallons of oil at extremely high pressure, a mile below the surface of the ocean.

Suzy Schmidlap proposed dropping a giant concrete house on top of it. But of course that didn't work. Silly Suzy.

Johnny Jumpingbean said we should try shooting otherwise un-recycle-able garbage into the hole at high speed, solving two problems at one time! Great idea Johnny, we're hoping that will work out!

Just in case Johnny's experiment fails, send us your other ideas! We're open!

Remember, the Grand Prize is ... you get to grow up with a Gulf of Mexico that is filled with water instead of oil! Plus we just might name our next off-shore drilling rig after you. What an honor that would be.
