Today Right Wing Watch tips us that rally organizer Janet Porter is now saying that they prayed them some prayers that were SO good, that as a thank you bonus, God decided to make sure that there Times Square car bomb would not blow up. Glory! Praise His Name!

They prayed for the death of all liberals, generally, and for the fall of the top Socilist, Obama, in particular. And God granted an alternate, unprayed prayer. And now, they are so pleased with themselves for delivering a result that was never included among all the things they prayed for. Sure, that makes sense--if you believe that making up crap and saying it out loud makes it so . . .

10. This "pray for this" and pray for that" is getting ridiculous.

Never mind that this suggests that the almighty God can be easily controlled and directed by the wishes and whims of mere humans if they just ask, which is a view a toddler would reject. (And never mind "What if the guy next door is praying for the opposite event at the same time?") I say, what about the fact that praying simply doesn't work?

A bunch of simpletons "pray" for some specific outcome. If the desired outcome happens (because it was going to anyway), they say their prayers were "answered". If not, it's "part of God's mystery" and they try it again next time. This is sheer self-deluded idiocy.

I feel sorry for people whose minds are so lacking that praying for specific outcomes seems sensible to them.
