DAYTON, Ohio — A high-ranking enlisted member of the Air Force is accused of a pattern of sexual harassment, including having sex with subordinates, touching a female airman’s breasts and buttocks without her permission, and sending semi-nude images of himself to subordinates, according to Air Force documents.

Chief Master Sgt. William Gurney, a 27-year veteran, faces 18 counts involving 10 female airmen. The Air Force is planning a hearing on May 26 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton to determine whether the charges should move forward.

The Associated Press left messages for Gurney’s attorney, Maj. Kristin McCall. A request for comment from Gurney was left with the base’s media relations staff.

In November, Gurney was removed as the top enlisted man at the Air Force Materiel Command headquarters at Wright-Patterson and was assigned to a desk job.

The same month, a female airman filed a complaint against Gurney that led to an investigation that showed inappropriate relationships with 10 women, said Karen Petitt, a spokeswoman at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, which is handling Gurney’s case. He also is accused of misusing his government computer, cell phone and e-mail account.

unhappycamper comment: This is another reason why 30% of females in the United States military have been raped or sexually assaulted. And the Air Force is going to decide on 5.26.2010 if they are going to move the charges forward. I guess being a white, male NCO is a get-out-of-jail free card. :eyes:
