Pope pins abuse scandal on Church 'sin'....from the BBC
Today we see in a truly terrifying way that the greatest persecution of the Church does not come from outside enemies, but is born of sin within the Church," the pontiff told reporters on a plane bound for Portugal.

1. "sin"
I thought that was the whole point of the church.

3. I'm supposed to believe this church can forgive my "sins"
when it admits it is so deeply mired in its own?

Not this week, no.

2. I'd lay the blame on the Administrators (people) and not some impersonal institution (church)
It's like the Catholic Church is a corporation or something. No humans are ever freaking responsible except for when it's a low-level managerial type who has to just "confess" and do "penance".

5. Actually, the Catholic Church is considered by some to be one of the first "corporations"
on planet Earth.

As far as the reason for the scandal, it is more criminal conspiracy than sin.

6. The church has has to take a lot of blame
for the mess the world is in today. Over many years they have showm people that it is okay to commit crimes and then hide them. The people have just been following their lead. This is another sin of the church that needs to be addressed.
