Glacier National Park turns 100, but age has not been kind
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, Mont. — Age has not been kind to Glacier National Park.

The gorgeous million-acre park in northwestern Montana celebrated its 100th birthday today. But many of its glaciers have melted, and scientists predict the rest may not last another decade.

1. Thank you for this. I grew up in NW Montana and spent many days in summer on
The Going-To-The-Sun-Highway. Beautiful area. It's sad about the glaciers disappearing.

Old nickname for that part of Montana used to be "Land of the Shining Mountains" because of how the setting sun would turn the snow on the peaks of the mountains pink and glowing...
