|
The Gulf of Mexico didn't spill a damn thing!
Call it the BP oil spill in the Gulf. That all I want to point out because words matter

5. BP oil disaster in the gulf |
|
I hated the word spill also, but BP needs to be added to any title we give it.

6. Good point. We don't speak of the Alaska oil spill. |
|
It was the Exxon-Valdez spill. Put the blame where it belongs, on the corrupt oil industry.
(Who the hell unrecommended this thread?? And why?)

more of a gusher or volcanic oil disaster. Spill doesn't do this justice.
It's a fucking catastrophe.
I read a blog from a petroleum engineer that this oil/natural gas find is HUGE. He said that is reached up under central Alabama. My question is this: why didn't they drill on land then?
I hope this little 'cap top' (whatever they call it) will work to stop this gusher.
We are really witnessing the demise of our planet.

12. Well, we could call it what it is, a "Blow out" |
|
And it fairly accurately describes what is happening, oil is quite literally blowing out of the well head.

13. True but I want BP to own it in |
|
Whatever title we give it, their name needs to live in infamy with the disaster
I was noticing a lot of threads titled Gulf oil spill
