Quote of the Day

"I've honestly only seen upside at this point. Wherever we go people say that my grandfather was their favorite president."

-- Christopher Nixon Cox (R), quoted by the Washington Post, on using "his family's political legacy as a springboard to political office."

20. Note he didn't say "everyone says,"...
he just said that "Wherever we go, people..."
Meaning that maybe one or two people tell him that, everywhere he goes.

2. It's a shame
because if you take away Vietnam and Watergate, Nixon would have been a decent president. Unfortunately, Vietnam and Watergate were not trivial affairs.

7. People are polite
How many people, that he'll meet, would be rude enough to walk up to someone and bitch about their dead father. The only people who are going to say anything are those that can at least SAY that sentence, whether they actually mean it or not. Even I don't really want to "visit the fathers sins upon the son".

13. Ah, yes...Richard Milhouse Nixon, the gift that keeps on giving.
I think of him fondly every time I see one of his henchmen on teevee commenting on their latest assault on democracy.
