5. Stay safe!
It's got to be nerve-wracking, just to have those sirens go off in the middle of the night.

8. it is. We have a weather alarm in our bedroom
it gives us notice as soon as the national weather centers call a warning. Scares the hell out of us when it goes off at 2 am~

10. we went thru a quake in Los Angeles, moved to Georgia, and three days
after arriving the tornado alarms went off in the middle of the night. Scared the crap out of me, because I had no idea what was going on.

12. I've got one and it startles the living daylights out of me when it goes off,
usually because it's gonna rain hard and flood some poor neighborhood out (but never mine here on the flat).

6. Good luck out there
Tornadoes are one of the weather related nasties I don't miss about living on the Gulf Coast. Scary things. I traded for earthquakes and still feel good about it.

Keep the family close and remember, if the power goes out you are required by law to tell ghost stories.

7. The last time we had a tornado warning my 8 year old daughter said she loved them because we are all
together when they happen. That definitely made me pause. We are usually all in the house but in various rooms. During the tornado warnings we are all in the basement but our basement is like a large open finished basement with multiple TV's, a desktop computer plus laptops (more including cell phones with internet), a refrigerator, couches, etc. - not exactly roughing it. Even down there, we can all do our own thing but she can see everybody at the same time - even the dog and cat.
