Has anybody found a good source of up-to-the-minute info on the oil disaster?
IMHO this is the only news anybody should be monitoring and I can find more information about Mark Sanford's penis than this monumental crisis...

2. This is very good:
web page: http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/site/2931/

On Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/DeepwaterHorizonResponse

Looking for the latest information about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico? Check out www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com. The website provides regular updates the spill, which was caused by last week’s deadly explosion aboard the Deepwater Horizon, a mobile offshore drilling unit. It appears to be the result of an online collaboration between the Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), BP, and Transocean. You'll a wealth of official resources about the spill response, including pictures, satellite images, fact sheets, media advisories, and press releases.

3. it is good; even more enraging when one compares it Katrina mismanagement
The admin is all over this, or at least, they're all over making it look like they're all over it, which still shows they care a lot more than guitar-playing W. and shoe-shopping Condi while the floodwaters rose.

5. NOAA has some good info, but it is not easy to find from their front page
From the National Weather Service page, at least for Southeast locations, there is a link to the NOAA page:
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tlh/ - see the link in red at the top? That takes you to:
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=tae&storyid=51828&source=0 Which has a bunch of links some of which are not helpful.

One frightening graphic from that page is at the link "Latest HYCOM-GFS Oil Spill Forecast from COAPS/FSU" which takes you to:
http://oilspill.fsu.edu/model_output/hycom_gfs.html

Another source is the Deepwater Response page which seems to have been set up by NOAA:
http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/site/2931/

Gulf Oil Spill Tracker is collecting incident reports and has links to some further info:

8. Here is an Alabama TV station that has some good information.
http://www.wkrg.com/gulf_oil_spill/

Click on the forecast video for the latest size and movement of the oil spill. There is also a running tally of the number of gallons now flowing into the gulf along with several news articles.
