USA: Make Sale of Crush Videos Illegal Again!
http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/campaign.faces?siteId=3&campaign=CrushAct&ThirdPartyClicks=ETA_051310_CrushAct_F

Help us fight animal suffering and exploitation. Sign the petition now!

Sponsored by: ASPCA

On April 20, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in U.S. v. Stevens that the "Crush Act," a 1999 federal law banning the creation, sale and possession of materials depicting genuine acts of animal cruelty, is unconstitutional and overbroad in its scope.

H.R. 5092 will help ensure that the crush video industry is not revitalized in the absence of any enforceable federal law. Add your voice to the cause! Join the ASPCA in urging the U.S. House of Representatives to support legislation that amends the Crush Act.

Petition and more info at the link above --

PLEASE kick this so many people can see it!

4. Ever see a hunting show or magazine?
The only difference is the sexual side of it.

of being able to claim that they can feed people and/or control an animal population. Is that why the court said the law is "overly broad"--because it would affect hunters?

9. Stupid court decision.
Killing animals for entertainment purposes is illegal in the first place in the US. Why would the selling of these videos be allowed?

11. The act is illegal.
The video of said act isn't illegal any more than a video of someone smoking weed or speeding down the freeway or beating a handcuffed prisoner would be illegal.

That's a HUGE difference.

12. Exactly.
The reprehensibility of the act is immaterial to the legality of the video thereof.
