Illegal Drugs Found In Boy's Bedroom, Police Say

A couple is accused of growing illegal drugs in a closet.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville couple was arrested on allegations of growing 'shrooms in their 7-year-old son's closet.

According to a police report, when authorities discovered the hallucinogens, the boy told his mother, "Well mom, the police found them."

Investigators were led to the home off East Stanford Road after they got an anonymous tip, Local 6 News partner WJXT-TV reported. Police said they found several budding magic mushrooms.

According to the police, the boy said his dad would check the temperature of the mushrooms and that his mom knew about them, but only watched the dad check on them.

3. Thanks to the illogical, dysfunctional, draconian and immoral War on Drugs, shit like this happens.
When will the government wake up to the truth of their policies being the primary cause.

Kicked and recommended.

Thanks for the thread, The Straight Story.

4. The article implies the 'shrooms were
magical and that the kid may have touched them.
But touching a 'shroom does not endanger any one.
A magical one any way.

12. Absolutely
Baby food jars are most commonly used these days as a vessel. It's really become quite simpole to do so and spores are readily available as the only way to prove a spore is illegal is to allow it to grow.

14. Yes. Put spores in jar of rice or some other growing medium...
Put them in the dark and they grow. Must be clean and use pressure cooker.

Please note...doing this must fund terrorism in Afghanistan or killer cartels, or it would not be illegal

11. High? High?
Edited on Thu May-13-10 04:26 PM by Newest Reality
if the Flying Spaghetti Monster wanted us to get high, it would have given us cannabis, stropheria cubensis, peyote, etc. Oh, wait a minute ...

I really find using the term "drug" to apply to naturally occurring plants and fungus to be ignorant and misleading and it points a big, corporate finger away from the ancient and historical uses, both medicinal and sacramental, as well as psychological, for them. I mean, "growing illegal drugs" even sounds ridiculous and only adds to the cognitive dissonance created by the manipulation of terms applied and deliberate deceptions portrayed and disseminated for decades now.

Now, those may have been good parents, neighbors, etc., but they are probably going to be in a world of trouble and face some very troubling times, especially if the quantity is over the personal use limit ... which is very low.

My question is always, what can really do havoc on your life more, the reasonable and occasional use of some substance used responsibly, or being sent to jail, (after spending thousands on a defense, possibly) having your children taken away, and trying someday, to recover from that? Who is being served and helped in that case? Granted, abuse is one thing, but this is another. In a "free" country, altering your own consciousness would also be a right as long as you did no harm to others. Yet, some substances like alcohol are exempted despite the mental and physical destruction it reaps on the imbiber as well as those around them, e.g., drunk driving and violent, belligerent behavior.

Oh, wait, there is a LOT of money being made from the "war" on SOME drugs, from enforcement to laundered profits. Sorry for a useless rant.

16. A friend and I grew 'shrooms in an unused shower stall
35 years ago. Brought some cow chips with the 'shrooms spores home ftom down Texas way and put them on a bakers rack and put it in the otherwise unused shower stall and when we'd want to have a party all we'd have to do is the evening before is turn the hot water on and let it soak the cow chips real good then the next morning the chips would be loaded with good ole 'shrooms. Let the par tee begin. Those were the days. For those who haven't tried 'shrooms and like to cop a buzz from time to time should seriously try Psilocybin mushroom as I never seen or heard of anyone who had a bad experience from eating them. A small button or a large 6-7 inch diameter one made no difference, the high was the same.
