We have just passed One Trillion Dollars in direct costs for the two |
|
Wars that we have started. This does not even include what the long terms costs for the care of the wounded. Why are the teabaggers not whining about that? Would it be because their white president started it?
Which is worse, a trillion to provide health care to all (or close to that) or wars that have killed and maimed hundreds of thousands? Wonder which selection the teabaggers will take.

3. Both allow a corrupt industry to stay in business, and the US taxpayer is required to fund both |
|
So, yeah, they both pretty much suck, and neither one was necessary.

7. So, we've spent about one quarter of what we spent for all of WWII to defeat Germany + Japan |
|
Edited on Thu May-13-10 07:14 PM by kenny blankenship
and the rest of the Axis forces, including all the fighting in Africa, Europe and the Pacific together with the cost of development and production of generations of fighter aircraft, strategic bombers, even early jet aircraft, countless thousands of tanks and howitzers, and the commissioning of dozens of aircraft carriers and destroyers and battleships and submarines. Not to mention the development from scratch of the first atomic weapons. And when it was over, for all our effort and money spent we got to reorder the relations between nation states forever in a new legal framework banning wars of territorial aggression through the creation and chartering of the United Nations.
But in this case, we've spent all the money to fight a few thousand disorganized, lightly armed "insurgents". Who appear to be successfully waiting us out. And the edifice of international law created by ourselves and our allies at the end of WWII, paid for with the lives of millions, now lies in ruins - like our economy.
Now that is some Bang for your Buck.

8. Heh! That's what you get when you have a business guy with an MBA who decides to |
|
go to war! Sounds like a perfectly good "unregulated" business decision!
